Computer Science, University of Maryland at College Park,
My main research interests are in
the broad areas of machine learning, information acquisition,
and decision theory. Specifically, I am interested in active
learning, active inference, interactive machine learning,
transparent machine learning, statistical relational learning,
collective classification, and probabilistic graphical models.
Here is a slide deck that summarizes my research interests:
I am the founder and director of
the machine learning laboratory @ Illinois Tech. More
information about my research group and recent projects can be
found at our laboratory
Our research is funded by:
Caner Komurlu, Jinjian Shao, Banu Akar, Elif S. Bayrak, Eric M. Brey, Ali Cinar, and Mustafa Bilgic. Active Inference for Dynamic Bayesian Networks with an Application to Tissue Engineering. Knowledge and Information Sytems (KAIS), June 2016.
