Ralph Andre was laid to rest on October 20, 1999.

In 1966, Ralph invented and patented a retractable landing gear for R/C models, selling about 250,000 sets in the first five years. He later patented a design for a remote-piloted vehicle used by the Navy for reconnaissance missions in hostile areas.

He owned and operated Wing Manufacturing in Galesburg, Illinois. Ralph was a member of the Spoon River Flyers in Maquon and the Galesburg Flyers Association. He was an active participant in the Stearman Fly-In every year.

Most important though, Ralph was one of the nicest people I ever had the pleasure to meet and was a great ambassador for our hobby. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
