History of Java
This is a brief history of how Java began. It began in 1991. It was originally created as a small programming tool in a small closed-door project initiated by Patrick Naughton, Mike Sheridan, and James Gosling of Sun in 1991. It didn't officially begin until May 23, 1995 when John Gage of Sun and Marc Andreesen of Netscape announced that Java was real and it was going to be incorporated into Netscape Navigator. At that time there was less than 30 people on the Java team. Currently there are thousands of employees working on Java and as Java grows so do their employees.

Here is a picture of the original members of the Java group who created and nurtured a technology that would change the computing world.
