ChronoLog Positions Available (July 2021)

As part of the NSF-funded project titled “ChronoLog: a new distributed shared log store for activity and log data” (performed in collaboration with the University of Chicago), the Scalable Computing Software Lab at Illinois Tech is seeking talented Software Developers, PostDoc Researchers, and PhD students.

Applicants for these positions will work in the design and development of the ChronoLog library and the collection of its plugins. Prior systems building experience in HPC and Parallel and distributed storage systems is invaluable. Experience in any of the following areas are strong pluses:

  • C, C++, and UNIX-like systems
  • Deep memory and storage hierarchies
  • Data streaming and real time workflows
  • API design and implementation
  • Performance optimization, characterization, and code instrumentation
  • Aspects of the software life cycle and the agile methodology

For the Developers and PostDocs the positions available will follow a flexible hybrid work model between on-campus and remote telework. For the PhD students, applicants must follow the school's normal academic schedule.
