Research Assistantship and Post-Doctoral Research Associate Opportunities

Scalable Computing Software Laboratory (SCS) is looking for highly qualified and self-motivate graduate students; funding is available during the whole program, but is contingent on good academic progress. If you think you meet the admission requirements to the PhD program in Computer Science, and have a desire to pursue research in parallel/distributed systems, please send your resume/CV and a personal statement to Xian-He Sun at sun@iit.edu . Post-Doctoral Research Associate position may be also available. Opportunities are available until the positions are filled. Dr. Xian-He Sun

Dr. Sun, Xian-He is a professor of computer science and the Chairman of the Department of Computer Science at Illinois Institute of Technology, a guest faculty in the Division of Mathematics and Computer Science at Argonne National Laboratory, and an IEEE Fellow. His current research interests include parallel and distributed processing, memory and I/O systems, software system for Big Data applications, and performance evaluation/prediction.

SCS Lab

The SCS Lab is a research lab in the CS department at IIT, being lead by Dr. Xian-He Sun. SCS Lab conducts research in high performance computing and communication, especially in the design and prototype development of scalable software systems, where scalable software means software which can cooperate hundreds or more processes working collectively.

Computer Science at IIT

The Computer Science (CS) department at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in computer science and has research strengths in distributed systems, information retrieval, computer networking, intelligent information systems and algorithms.
