One Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the area of advanced computer architecture is available immediately in the Scalable Computing Software (SCS) Laboratory at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). Candidates with knowledge in memory systems and parallel processing will be preferred. A successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in computer science/engineering, or related area, have an in-depth understanding of computer architecture and have experience and skills in computer simulation tools, such as GEM5, with a proven capacity for research. The compensation is competitive.
The SCS lab has received a large US NSF grant to lead a multi-institution, multi-year research project in developing Deep Memory-Storage Hierarchy (DMSH) systems for solving data intensive applications. While the majority of the DMSH project is to accelerate I/O performance via DMSH, this position is on exploratory research on memory systems, focusing on utilizing architecture potential to support the best performance of DMSH systems.
